The seventh post

Hello peeps! 
Today is the last Sunday of the year and this year has been another fast one. I shall be sharing a few more personal devices to you guys/gals and that'd be it for this blog. The device that I will be sharing with you today is my beloved DSLR Canon 60D camera and if you have spent quite a fair bit of time with me, you will know that I do have a reasonable size of passion for films. I have purchased this camera about a year ago and I've been using it constantly, this camera would always be by my side. I went out last night to take a few long exposure black and white photos around Bangkok with this baby, I shall post a link to those photos down below.

 I purchased this camera because I always had this admiration for films and photography but I never had a chance to try it out and my girlfriend is a photographer so I decided to travel into the uncharted water with a help from her to guide me through the unknown.
And now after a year, I am more than certain than ever about what my future goal will be. I shall become a movie director. Down below are a few videos and photos accumulated through out the year, feel free to check them out. I guess it'd be better to let my work explain what I'm about because even though I can write quite a fair bit but a picture worth a thousand words.

The Sixth post, buy one get one free

Merry Christmas!! (apologize for being a bit late on that)
I hope you guys/gals had a blast and didn't stuff yourself with too much food. I had a pretty decent Christmas and yes I did over eat just a little bit too much. My family and I went to have Christmas dinner together at an Italian restaurant and by going against the tradition I ordered myself a really nice piece of New York sirloin steak. It was cooked perfectly, nice caramelization on the outside and on the inside, the colour gradually changed from brown to that nice healthy pink in the middle. That, ladies and gents is a perfect ten out of ten medium rare steak. Anyhow I suppose to be talking about IT devices not good, so lets get into it
Today I shall be talking two pieces of my home network devices, an Apple Time Capsule and an Airport express.

Apple Time Capsule

I've purchased these two devices last year because my house needed an upgrade from the old devices we have been using since my arrival four years ago. As all my family members use apple devices, it is much easier to connect all of them up with Apple network devices.
The model of Time Capsule I purchased was the 2TB one, It's been working really well and never had any hiccups but one thing that does bug me until this day is that you can not connect your iPad or iPhone directly to it (to my knowledge anyway and if you do have a way to do this, leave me a comment). Before I go any further about that I should clarify about what does this device do, basically it's a hard drive that you can back up your mac computers to and you can use it as an external hard drive that everyone in the network can access. This is quite handy as my sister and I share a lot of films and t.v. series on the network but as I mentioned above, your iDevices will not be able to connect to the time capsule directly and I usually have to access the files via my computer through "Air video server" or similar applications. That's pretty much the only thing that I'd complain about and being an Apple device, it doesn't require a lot of effort to set up therefore it's really user friendly. If you're looking for a network storage device, using apple computer and can't be bother to spend a lot of time fiddling around with NAS or RAID, this is the device for you.

Now let's move onto the second device, Apple airport express.

I purchased this little device to extend the range of my network signal as the time capsule's range (which I forgot to mention above that it can act as a WiFi base station as well) is even though reasonable but it could not cover my whole house. You possibly think that my house is super huge and I have to clarify that it is not but it has quite a fair few blind spots that is all. There is a USB port, Ethernet port and a 3.5mm audio jack on this little device therefore you can hook up a printer and share it to the entire network or hook up a pair of speakers to play music via Airplay thus why this little device is so awesome and with its small price tag, it's quite a bargain.

The Fifth post, PS2 can control missiles?

Hello all and congratulations for surviving the apocalypse!
We somehow be able to postpone the Armageddon and return to the festive mind set as Christmas is just around the corner which reminded me I only have a few days left to write up any many post as possible on this blog. 
Today ladies and gents we shall jump back on that time machine again, for me I'd prefer to imagining myself jumping into the Delorean from the film "Back to the future".

 We shall be talking about one of my old IT device that I was super lucky to have when I was growing up, The PlayStation 2 aka PS2 aka this console is awesome enough that someone created a myth that Saddam Hussein was going to use this to launch missiles with. After my mind had been blown away by the PlayStation 1, I wasn't prepared for what I should expect from the successor of this ridiculously popular PS1. I can not recall when or where I got this PS2 from but the only thing I can remember was the super smooth graphic on Gran Tursimo 3. I have to say that I played that game religiously, part of the reason why I did not receive good grades that year in school which lead to the decrease in my weekly allowance therefore I did not have a chance to buy more PS2 games to play.

After a year or two, I moved to New Zealand and I did not take my beloved PS2 with me as my parents believed that it would prevented me from socialising with my new Kiwi friends thus stopping me from learning English properly. But with my great persuasive skills, I was able to convince them to buy me the slimmer PS2 that came out after the original PS2 to take back to New Zealand with me. I ended up using that slimmer PS2 until my high school graduation and I ended up selling it just before I came back to Thailand. It was one of the greatest gaming console ever!!

Good evening ladies and gents, welcome back to my rant post! Today we shall be covering a piece of device that was short lived in my history of personal IT devices. The reason being that I did not really own this piece of device, it was on a lease for me from Nokia for 3 days and 2 nights and it is called the Lumia 920. I did manage to use it quite a bit and I really really really liked it but I did not tempt by it enough to purchase it. 
 Job well done Park!! you resisted your impulsive behavior this time or was this product wasn't interesting enough? Or did it not stir certain part of your inner organs and give you that warm fuzz feeling you usually get when you test out a new piece of gadget? Or may be the reason why you didn't get that sensation was because it did not come with a shiny plastic front display protector that you like to peel off so much as the sound of it reminds you of the evil mermaids' singing voice from Pirates of the Caribbean?

The answer to those silly questions above is the lack luster app store on Windows Phone 8, pure and simple as that. I will tell you that it is not a bad thing at all as I will remind you that when a new platform is launched, lack of apps is a natural process. The more WP8 phones are around the more apps there will be in the store or market place or whatever they called it. For now I would not get this phone as I do require certain apps for my everyday activities so that I can live peacefully and WP8 app store doesn't meet this requirement for me, yet.

I have a lot of hope for this phone and this platform and if iOS6's next iteration doesn't change much, I reckon quite a chunk of iOS market share will drop and will migrate to this fresh (compare to other mobile platform) platform.

All I have to say is that I will be on my knees and pledge my allegiance to thee when your App store is full of fun things other platforms are offering, until then I shall stick with my dull looking but "incredible re-designed" iPhone 5 and it's "most advance mobile operating system to date" iOS6.

The Third post aka travelling back to my childhood

Hey there again readers and fellow bloggers!!
Today I shall keep it short and share one of my personal IT device from the past which is the rip off version Super Nintendo Entertainment System (snes) aka the super awesome retro 16 bit console that was the craze of the early 90's. 
My mother was kind enough to buy me this back when I was quite young, I believe it was during pre-school years if I can recall correctly. You might ask how did I remember it so well as a lot of people I've met told me that the furthest back recollection they were able to recall by themselves usually came from the time when they started primary school. I can recall the time when I got this because it was the time before Playstation came along and ate up a big chunk of Nintendo's market and my father gave me a playstation console when I was in my first year of primary school.

 Prior to this I was fortunate enough to enjoy my free time with my sister on the original Nintendo Entertainment System (nes) which was the 8bit version. I can still recall even though vaguely of how this 16 bit's graphic amazed me. At that time my brain can only take in so much and a lot of things I could not comprehend for example the whole copy floppy disk thing, I used to have a few games that require more than one floppy disk to play and if I am correct the disk has to be loaded onto the system prior the funage can be commenced. I can only assume that it must some kind of a modification module that tricks the console that the game was actually a real copy, Oh the ingenuity of the early hackers. 
Anyhow I am falling asleep so I shall wrap this up quickly, to sum it up this console is much more than a machine to me. It represents that period of my childhood and every time I look at it, nostalgia hits me in the face so hard it might as well send me back through time. To that simpler time of pretending to be sick so you can stay in and play street fighter or Rockman aka Mega man to those westerners.

Second post

The second post

Hello again Earthlings! I do have to apologize for my absences as I have been going through my seasonal sickness and could not have gotten out of bed to post (rant) about my personal IT devices. In a way I do feel rather uncomfortable talking about this topic or any other topics relating to myself to be honest, of course there are a few exceptional times that I do feel comfortable talking about myself i.e. when I am heavily intoxicated or when I have to impress someone but then again it's more for that someone's acceptance of my poor soul rather than trying impress them (or are they the same thing? so much to ponder, so little time). Anyhow I shall be going back to what I suppose to be talking about and that is one of my personal IT devices. These gadgets are not chronologically ordered so some of these gadgets I have owned have been with me for a very long time and some I have recently came into my possession. 

This post I shall be talking about the brand new iPhone 5!! I've been using this phone for a week now and at first coming back to iPhone from my ginourmous phablet goodness aka Samsung Galaxy Note 2 felt quite awkward. The screen size may be bigger than the old 4s but it's miniature compares to the screen size of the note, and yes I did have problem typing on this tiny screen. A lot of people may be talking about how iPhone is dying and nothing has really changed that much since the iPhone 4, I would agree with you but I would like to raise a point not in a defense for Apple but to make you ponder about the saying "If it ain't broken, don't fix it". Some might say that "well, iPhone is broken so you might wanna fix it!!", that might be true but then again iPhone has been selling so well and isn't that an evidence that you can use to counter that argument?
One of the thing that you would notice with this device is again similar to the iPad mini, it feels so good in your hands. The note 2 did feel good but good as in you're holding on to a flimsy plastic piece of device that packed so much goodness in it but I wish I could feel it with my hands good.
I do know that the previous sentence might be oddly structure but if you're a little bit not so sober it does make sense, trust me.
iPhone 5 doesn't have that many new things to be honest, its the same phone but longer, thinner and lighter. Does it worth your money to upgrade from whatever phones you have? That depends on what you have with you right now. If you've recently purchased an Android device that was released a few months back then your device possibly has a better specification. If you're using an iPhone4 then yes it'd be a great upgrade. If you're using an iPhone 4s and you want a slightly bigger screen that can give you that extra row because you're a bit of an OCD freak (good connotation) then go ahead and get it.
At the starting price at 22,900 baht from Apple store online and 24,500ish baht from your local phone vendors, it is rather steep for a phone with this spec, semi broken iOS6 and 16GB storage space.  For the same price or lower you can get the brand new Nokia Lumia 920 (with better specs and built-in map application), Galaxy note 2 which is a beast of a phone, Galaxy S3 which is another beast of a phone, HTC one x if you do care about that beats headphones thing or even HTC 8x that packs Windows Phone 8 with pricing around 19,900 baht.
Logic clearly dictates that I would be better off buying any other phones in the market but the iPhone5. But there's something about Apple products that I can not classify what it is but it has this power to make me become super irrational and impulsive.

iPhone 5 review

first post!

Hey there peeps!! thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.
The first device i wanted to share is the recently released iPad mini, coincidentally I've just started a tech review channel on Youtube.
It's in Thai and to be frank, my Thai is somewhat inadequate so the video in this link below contained an annoying amount of "umm" and "arhh". So if you would like to check out the video, I will have to apologize in advance.

The main reason I've purchased this is due to the fact that I wanted to have a 7"ish tablet for reading and surfing the web with when I travel around. I am a sucker for a 7" tablet as I prefer to have a light and portable device than chunky 10" tablet to carry around in the bag with me all day.
The second reason why I've purchased this piece of sexy device is because at that time I did not have an iOS device, this might make me appear to you as a spoiled pompous brat who have more stuffs than he needs. You are half right, yes I can come across as a pompous...person but those who think that I am spoiled, we might have reached an impasse and I'd prefer to settle our differences after I finished my rambling on this blog entry. Anyhow coming back to what I was talking about,  iOS has been quite a big part of my everyday life since I purchased my first iOS device, the iPhone 3G which sadly I do not have with me anymore. I have many applications I've purchased on iOS and I wished to return to them (applications that have been offered on my Android device are somewhat limited). Therefore at that time I took a leap of faith (over exaggeration does come quite natural to me) and ordered it on Apple store online. After a few weeks have passed (in tech enthusiast's time is equal to 10,000years) a brown DHL box arrived and i went ahead and did an unboxing video which can be watched at your own cost by clicking on the link down below.
